Four young men from Valkenburg did not have German citizenship, but joined the German army voluntarily.Johann Stipdonk, a machine fitter born in Haarlem in 1919 and resident of Neerhem, died in Taganrog on November 28, 1941 [1] in southwest Russia on the Sea of Azov. [2]
On volksbund.de we read:
Johann Stipdonk could not be recovered during our reburial work. The planned transfer to the collecting cemetery in Krasnodar-Apscheronsk was therefore unfortunately not possible. His name is recorded in the cemetery’s memorial book. [3]
