Four young men from Valkenburg did not have German citizenship, but joined the German army voluntarily.Hubert Senden, without profession and living in Vroenhof, died on November 23, 1941 in Bolschekreperfkaja (?) near Rostow at the Don in Russia, where he is also buried. [1.1][1.2] [1.1][1.2]
According to the Im-Memoriam card issued by the Valkenburg Brigade of the W.A. (similar to the German S.A.), he was a soldier of the SS (SS-Schütze), Standarte Westland. The spelling of his place of death also comes from this card, but no place with this name can be found. [1.1]
Diederen spells the name of the place of death as follows: Boljekrepinsksja. but this cannot be found either. However, there is a village between Rostov and the Ukrainian border called Bolschekrepinskaja. [2]
That name is also mentioned by the Volksbund. His grave must also be there, but the exact spot is not known. [3]
