The birthplace of Bernard Gotjé is Woensdrecht. That is why he is mentioned on brabantsegesneuvelden.nl:
In adulthood Bernard lived in Nieuwenhagen, Limburg, where he worked in the mining industry. His leftist sympathies led him to collaborate in the illegal printing and distribution of the magazines De Vonk and De Waarheid during the German occupation.
On May 30, 1942, he was arrested in Nieuwenhagen as one of the victims of the wave of arrests among communists and their sympathizers that followed the arrest of De Vonk distributor F.E. Scheper on May 29, 1942. [2]
According to monument.vriendenkringneuengamme.nl and brabantsegesneuvelden.nl, this was on May 31 in Heerlen. [3][1]
For him applies the same what the municipality of Schaesberg wrote about the arrest of Albert Koenders:
His arrest was related to the preceding arrest of a certain SCHEPERS in Schaesberg. The latter had made a statement and when the Germans also found incriminating papers in his house, a total of 22 persons were arrested in Schaesberg, Nieuwenhagen and Ubach over Worms, of whom the person in question was one. [4]

Via camp Amersfoort he was deported to the large concentration camp Neuengamme near Hamburg on 30 October of the same year. [1]
