Sedat Gürbüz was born in Langen and grew up with his brother in Dietzenbach.
He lived with his parents in Dietzenbach, where he also grew up and played club soccer for many years. [1]
Gürbüz was the former owner of the "Midnight" shisha bar, one of the crime scenes. That evening, he just wanted to say goodbye to his former employees in the bar, which he had sold shortly before. He died at the age of 29. [2]
His mother said in an interview with the weekly magazine Der Spiegel: We want a complete investigation. We will not allow this file to be closed just because the perpetrator is dead. We want to know why this crime was not prevented. Why was this man allowed to have a gun? Why was he not checked? What were they waiting for? [3]
