Dutch Steam Laundry, director’s house

In 1904 Pierre Cloot founded the Hollandsche Stoomwasscherij on the Plenkertstraat in Houthem. The terrain went from the laundry to the end of the Plenkert. From 1909 on he was only director there, his son-in-law Peter Schunck became the owner. Pierre Cloot was succeeded as a director by his son Leo (according to the Rijckheyt Archive) and in 1935 by the son Pierre of Peter Schunck. The house was built in 1911.
