In the last years of his life, Pierre Schunck has mainly been engaged in hand weaving. Special interest he had for the double weaving. This means: two layers of fabric are woven simultaneously, contrasting in color. They penetrate each other and form a pattern this way. Famous examples of it are traditional “Coptic” and “Finnish” fabrics.
